Genoa, Italy

Participated as a selected volunteer in a European Union supported youth exchange program hosted in Genoa, bringing together participants from multiple countries to collaborate on interdisciplinary creative and cultural projects.

Engaged in intensive workshops focused on photography, journalism, and cultural storytelling, combining theoretical learning with hands on production processes. Worked within an international team to explore social issues through visual and written narratives, developing research based content using local Italian sources.

As part of the project, conducted interviews and created a photographic documentation highlighting the living conditions of Black immigrants in Italy. The work focused on underrepresented personal stories, documenting individuals living in temporary and overlooked spaces such as laundromats. These narratives were translated into a public exhibition presented in Genoa’s city square, contributing to raising social awareness around migration and living conditions.

Additionally, represented Turkey within the program by organizing and hosting a cultural event, taking full responsibility for the concept, planning, and execution of a Turkish cultural night aimed at fostering intercultural exchange.

The program also included collaborative outdoor activities designed to strengthen both physical and mental resilience, supporting team dynamics and cross cultural communication.
